We visited Pukka over a year ago, so we were excited to return this year to see what’s new in their updated menu, just in time for the winter season. I personally love Indian food, and especially during the colder months, when the strong and bold flavours of Indian cuisine really stand out.

It’s that time of year where we look back at our favourite events in Toronto that happened this past year (Top events of 2013 here, by the way). There are many factors to consider when it comes to what makes an event “the best” year after year. You work hard for your money so if you choose to spend it to have a good time, then you naturally expect to get what you pay for.

On Dec. 10th I previewed the Denham “Byzantine” SS15 collection at The Publicist Group office at 64 Fraser Avenue in Liberty Village. It was a great space to house the event with exposed brick in a studio feel, which complemented the jean line perfectly.

With the hectic holiday season upon us that’s filled with parties, dinners, and shopping in addition to your normal day-to-day, chances are you may struggle to find time to exercise. However, enticing yourself to stay fit during this time of year will not only help you to stay healthy and maybe allow for that additional gingerbread man or woman into your life, but will also give you more energy and help reduce stress. We found a few rewarding and physically challenging group fitness classes that are fun enough to take away the excuses or temptations not to go!

Jason Priestley

In honour of the Canada’s Walk of Fame airing on Global TV tonight at 8pm, here are photos from the yellow carpet including Ryan Reynolds and Rachel McAdams. While he was there and he made some banter with Jason Priestley on stage at the Sony Centre, I don’t think Jian Ghomeshi is making it into the broadcast…

Cheers

Set in the heart of Toronto’s entertainment district at Mercer St, Buonanotte is an Italian dining destination that combines a lively nightlife experience with great Italian dishes, perfect for sharing. I was among a few in an intimate setting who tried the new menu items at Buonanotte by Executive Chef Davide Ianacci and enjoyed some cocktails and fine wine.

Now open on popular Ossington Avenue is the highly anticipated Borealia Restaurant. It’s a warm, intimate setting which takes a unique approach in both the decor and the menu with inspiration from a time when immigrant groups arrived in Canada in the 18th and 19th centuries. It’s thoughtfully-Canadian cuisine like you’ve never tried before.
